For lovers of raunchy, campy, low-budget horror, Canadian director/actor Grace Glowicki’s totally off-the-wall Dead Lover delivers.
With bodily fluids galore, it’s a gross and hilarious love story about a gravedigger (Glowicki) with a bad Victorian-era British accent — everyone has ridiculous accents — who tries to revive her dead lover using Dr. Frankenstein-like methods. As you can imagine, things do not go well.
Shot on 16mm film within a series of handcrafted theatrical sets, this film had its Canadian premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival and it’ll be a riot to see this Halloween season, especially with other people ready for some ridiculous fun.
